This is a dream. Pinch me because there is no way that I am
journeying around New Zealand as a college graduate in my young twenties. What.
On Wednesday (NZ time) we walked
further than the first two days combined! I am so blessed to have had running
shoes with me on the plane because we have yet to get our luggage. That being said, our lack of
luggage has resulted in hilarious washing parties in the bathroom. For only being here a few days, I can
honestly say that we know the city of Auckland as well as the locals. That also means that we were ready to
get out of the city by day four and see some greeeeeen!
On Thursday we headed for the breath-taking Waiheke Island! Once
the ferry took us over to the island, the adventure began with lunch in the
small town of Onetangi. Proceeding
our meal we hiked back down to the ferry terminal in Matiatia where the Zip-line
tour would pick us up. Our tour guide Jeremy and the other customers were so
much fun!! The other family in our
van was a family of four from Africa.
The 10 years old twin daughters, Brooke and Kira were adorable and their
parents were as cute as could be.
Of course we got to talking and they are lovers of Jesus Christ too!
Words cannot describe how adventurous
this zip line was! The zip line
tour consisted of three separate zip lines each with their own views. My favorites were the last two zips out
of the three. When you jumped off
the platform and looked up, you saw the beautiful ocean and vineyards in the
distance. If you looked down, you were soaring over canopies of trees!! Each zip
line took us further down the mountain so when it was all over we had to
mountain climb back up in the jungle!! The jungle!!! The climb was super easy
because it is made for all ages. The view was indescribable, something that
will be with me forever. I did not
take my camera through the jungle because that would have meant having it on
the zip line, however Allie did take her small camera and was able to capture
some of the beauty.
Below you will see some of the hundreds of photos I have
taken in the past 48 hours, cheers!
Day 3: LONG walk. Our hotel is right by the Sky Tower.
Day 4: Heading to the Island!
Super happy to leave the city!
Only living creature we've seen...a domestic cat.
Look what I am bringing home for you momma :)
Yeah-baby!
CHEERS!
